Suitable for fermented manure and wet materials
In organic fertilizer production, fermented and decomposed materials often face a challenging situation: their moisture content remains high, typically between 25% and 40%. Within this moisture range, the material exhibits a certain degree of stickiness and toughness, easily causing blockages, wall adhesion, and even motor burnout in conventional chain or hammer crushers. The half-wet material crusher machine is a specialized piece of equipment designed to solve this problem.
This model is particularly suitable for processing the following wet raw materials: fermented chicken, pig, cow, and sheep manure; industrial organic waste such as distiller’s grains, vinegar residue, and medicinal residues; fibrous materials softened through fermentation, such as straw and soybean meal; and organic waste with high moisture content, such as urban sludge and sugar factory filter mud.
Unlike ordinary crushers, the half-wet material crusher machine has a high tolerance for material moisture content, operating normally within a range of 25%-40%, and even processing materials with a moisture content of up to 50% for short periods without serious blockage.
Crushing Efficiency and Anti-Clogging Design
The key to the high efficiency of half-wet material crusher machines in processing wet materials lies in their unique structural design:
half-wet material crusher machineDual Rotor Counter-Rotation:half-wet material crusher machineThe equipment contains two sets of parallel, counter-rotating rotors, each with staggered high-strength alloy blades or hammers. As the two sets of rotors rotate relative to each other, the material is subjected to a triple action of shearing, impact, and tearing between the blades, rapidly crushing even fibrous wet materials.

Some models also feature a fixed scraper installed on the inner wall of the casing, creating relative motion with the rotating blades to further reduce material adhesion.
half-wet material crusher machineLarge Screen Aperture:half-wet material crusher machineCompared to ordinary crushers, half-wet material crusher machines have larger screen apertures, typically 6-12 mm. This not only increases the material flow rate but also reduces the risk of wet material clogging the screen. For applications requiring higher fineness, two-stage crushing or a smaller aperture screen can be used.
In terms of crushing efficiency, a 600mm diameter half-wet material crusher machine can process 3-5 tons per hour, while an 800mm diameter model can produce 8-12 tons per hour. The output fineness can be controlled within the range of 3-15mm depending on the screen aperture, meeting the requirements of subsequent granulation equipment.
Matching with Granulation Equipment: half-wet material crusher machines are typically placed after the fermentation process and before the granulation process in organic fertilizer production lines. Their matching requirements with different types of granulation equipment vary:
half-wet material crusher machineMatching with Disc Granulators:half-wet material crusher machineDisc granulation requires a high raw material fineness (above 80 mesh), but the direct output of a half-wet material crusher machine usually cannot achieve this fineness. Therefore, a fine powder crusher or high-fineness hammer mill needs to be configured after the crusher. The semi-wet crusher performs coarse crushing, and then the fine powder crusher completes the fine crushing.
half-wet material crusher machineMatching with New Type Organic Fertilizer Granulators:half-wet material crusher machineThese granulators have relatively relaxed requirements for raw material fineness; materials with a particle size of less than 3mm after crushing can be directly granulated. A half-wet material crusher machine can meet requirements with a single output, eliminating the need for secondary crushing.
Matching with a rotary drum granulator: Rotary drum granulation also requires high raw material fineness; it is recommended to add a fine powder crushing stage after the semi-wet crusher. For larger production lines, a two-stage crusher (coarse crushing + fine crushing integrated) can also be selected.
The half-wet material crusher machine is essential for processing fermented manure and wet materials (25%-40% moisture, up to 50% short-term). Its dual rotor counter-rotation and self-cleaning design prevent clogging, making it ideal for a bio organic fertilizer production line or npk fertilizer line. After crushing (3-15 mm output, 3-12 t/h depending on model), the material is ready for granulation. For a disc granulation production line, a disc granulator produces spherical granules, but may require additional fine crushing (>80 mesh). For a roller press granulator production line, the material is fed into a double roller press granulator for dry compaction. After granulation, the product is processed through a rotary drum screening machine, fertilizer dryer machine (for wet processes), fertilizer cooler machine, and fertilizer packing machine. For a pure blending line, a npk blending machine is used. The half-wet crusher’s key features: dual rotor counter-rotation for shearing, impact, and tearing; self-cleaning (airflow and fixed scraper); large screen aperture (6-12 mm) to prevent clogging. Matching with granulators: for new type organic fertilizer granulators (relaxed fineness requirements, <3 mm), direct output is sufficient; for disc or drum granulators (require high fineness), add a fine powder crusher after the half-wet crusher. The material should be fed into the granulator as soon as possible to prevent moisture reabsorption. The half-wet crusher is a critical piece of organic fertilizer production equipment, solving the wet material crushing problem and improving line stability. When used in conjunction with a suitable granulator, it produces high-quality finished products. Contact us for model selection and free trial runs with your raw materials.
It is important to note that the material exiting the crusher should be fed into the granulation process as soon as possible to prevent re-absorbing moisture or caking. In terms of equipment layout, the crusher should ideally be located adjacent to the granulator, with direct feeding via belt or screw conveyor.
For organic fertilizer production lines, selecting a suitable half-wet material crusher machine can effectively solve the problem of wet material crushing and improve the operational stability of the entire line. When used in conjunction with an organic fertilizer granulator series, ideal finished product quality can be obtained.
