On April 28, 2026, Zhengzhou Huaqiang Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd. successfully completed the installation and commissioning of a 5-ton-per-hour powdered organic fertilizer production line, custom-designed for a client in Pahang, Malaysia, and officially delivered it for operation. This marks another significant breakthrough for Huaqiang Heavy Industry in the field of palm waste resource utilization in Southeast Asia.
Pahang is a major palm oil producing region in Malaysia, generating a large amount of biomass waste during palm oil processing, such as empty fruit bunches (EFB), palm fiber, and palm residue. The main raw materials for this project are palm fiber and palm residue from local oil palm plantations and palm oil processing plants. Direct, untreated emissions would release large amounts of greenhouse gases, such as methane. Huaqiang Heavy Industry tailored a complete powdered organic fertilizer production process solution for the client, taking into account the characteristics of palm waste fibers—long length, high toughness, and high moisture content. The raw materials undergo crushing, mixing, fermentation, and fine screening processes to ultimately transform into high-quality powdered organic fertilizer.
The core equipment of this production line includes a high-efficiency crusher (specifically designed for palm fiber, effectively cutting long fibers), a twin-shaft mixer, a compost turner, a screening machine, and an automated packaging system. The entire production line is highly automated, with stable processing capacity, efficiently converting organic waste generated in palm plantations and during processing into organic fertilizer resources, achieving a closed-loop circular economy of “turning waste into treasure.”
Malaysia is the world’s second-largest exporter of palm oil, and the resource utilization of palm waste has been incorporated into the national green economic development agenda. The successful commissioning of Huaqiang Heavy Industries’ Pahang production line will effectively assist in the waste treatment and soil improvement of local palm plantations, promoting the sustainable development of green agriculture in the region.
Sustainable Model for Palm Waste Resource Utilization This project fully demonstrates the enormous potential of commercial organic fertilizer production lines to transform oil palm hollow fruit bunches (OPEFB) and palm fiber into high-value soil conditioners. The uses of oil palm hollow fruit bunches are no longer limited to incineration or landfill—through Huaqiang’s integrated process, they can be transformed into high-quality powdered fertilizer. The fertilizer crusher and mixer in this production line effectively handle the tough fiber characteristics of empty oil palm fruit bunches, while the fertilizer screening equipment ensures the production of uniform fine powder that meets commercial standards. For future expansion, the equipment can be upgraded with an organic fertilizer disc granulator or other fertilizer granulators to produce granular products, thus flexibly exploring new markets. The automatic fertilizer packaging machine ensures precise, dust-free packaging, ready for direct export or local distribution. This turnkey solution not only addresses the pressing environmental challenges facing palm oil plantations but also creates new revenue streams, aligning with Malaysia’s green economy goals.
