Yong Peng, Malaysia, is a core area for oil palm plantations, generating large quantities of agricultural and forestry waste annually, including empty bunches of oil palm fruit, palm fibers, and palm husks. Traditional dumping methods not only occupy space and breed mosquitoes but also easily cause environmental pollution, hindering efficient resource utilization. To solve the oil palm waste treatment problem, local plantation companies officially put our company’s tracked windrow compost turner into operation in April 2025 for large-scale aerobic fermentation of oil palm waste into fertilizer.
The tracked compost turner deployed this time is specifically designed for soft muddy and open-air sites in Southeast Asia. Its large track contact area and strong maneuverability allow it to move stably in muddy and wet dumps without getting stuck or compacting the pile. The equipment features an optimized mixing and dispersing structure specifically designed for the high fiber content and toughness of oil palm materials. Its strong turning and even spreading effectively breaks up clumps of palm material, rapidly replenishes oxygen and provides ventilation, completely resolving the problems of slow fermentation, difficulty in core heating, and uneven decomposition of oil palm waste.
The equipment employs a windrow operation mode, eliminating the need for fixed fermentation tanks. Customers can freely plan their material storage areas and flexibly adjust production scale, significantly reducing infrastructure investment. After processing, the fermentation cycle of oil palm waste is significantly shortened, and high-temperature decomposition is thorough, effectively removing impurities and harmful bacteria. The processed organic fertilizer is loose in texture and nutrient-balanced, and can be directly reused in oil palm plantations to improve soil and increase fruit yield.
The project commissioning and production proceeded smoothly. The equipment operates stably, with low fuel consumption and a low failure rate, perfectly adapting to the high-temperature and high-humidity outdoor operating environment in Malaysia. It provides an efficient and mature waste treatment solution for the green and circular development of the local oil palm industry.
