Disc granulators utilize the snowball effect to form round, aesthetically pleasing granules, making them the preferred equipment for high-end organic fertilizers. The granulation effect is influenced by three core factors: material fineness, moisture content, and disc inclination angle and rotation speed. Raw materials need to be crushed to 80-100 mesh, with a moisture content controlled between 25%-30%. Too dry, and granulation is difficult; too wet, and granules easily clump together.

Adjusting the disc granulator is crucial for controlling granule size and roundness. The disc inclination angle is typically adjusted between 35° and 55°. A larger angle results in smaller granules, and a smaller angle results in larger granules. Fine-tuning can be done according to market demand. The rotation speed must be matched to the material characteristics; lower the speed for sticky materials and increase the speed appropriately for loose materials. Simultaneously, the atomized spray water volume should be uniform, with frequent small-volume water replenishment to avoid localized over-wetting that causes large clumps.

The internal elastic scraper of the disc granulator must be in close contact with the disc surface to promptly clean adhering material and prevent scaling that affects granulation uniformity. During production, the finished product is screened periodically, and unqualified powder is returned to the granulation trays to improve raw material utilization. As long as the material parameters are well controlled, the tilt angle and rotation speed are precisely adjusted, and the spraying operation is standardized, uniformly sized, round and plump granular organic fertilizer can be produced stably, significantly improving the product’s market price and competitiveness.
